Meet Natalie Anderson
Candidate for Issaquah School District Board Director
District No. 2
I grew up in Woodinville and always knew I wanted to raise a family in western Washington. Even though I have traveled around the world, home is the Pacific Northwest. Before our daughter was born, my husband and I decided we wanted to find our forever home in the Issaquah School District because we knew it was one of the best.
My educational background is unique compared to many candidates seeking election for this position. Instead of attending a four-year university, I chose to enter the workforce immediately after high school. This decision allowed me to gain valuable experience in administration, office management, and customer service. These skills ultimately led to my current role at an aerospace company, where I have been employed for 21 years. For the last 4 years, I have been in Aerospace Quality. During my tenure, I have led several key projects that improved customer satisfaction and streamlined processes. I also played a pivotal role in enhancing quality control measures, resulting in a significant reduction in defects and an increase in overall efficiency. These initiatives succeeded largely due to the data driven nature of my approach to quality which would be an asset to the Board. My journey has been driven by passion, dedication, and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. These qualities have enabled me to advance in my career, even without a formal degree.
My husband, David, works for Microsoft, and our children, aged 9 and 6, both attend Maple Hills Elementary School. I have been an active volunteer at the school for 5 years and part of the PTA for the last 2 years, working as Director of Ongoing Programs. I have chaired events such as Science Fair Week, WATCH D.O.G.S., Eagle Reader Clubhouse, Silent Auction, and served as an Art Docent for 5 years. I most recently was involved in fundraising efforts to support school events and resources for the next 2 years. I will always volunteer to help at my children's schools, as I believe volunteerism is the cornerstone and foundation of a successful community.
I believe my success in this Board position would stem from my ability to listen and represent the community effectively. I am not defined by high academic achievements but by my active involvement in the community and my commitment to volunteering. My practical experience and community engagement make me a strong candidate who truly understands and values the needs of the people I aim to serve.
My #1 goal in being on the Board in the Issaquah School District is to bring my background and perspective along with the community issues and concerns to represent everyone’s best interest for the future of our children.
